Return to CREDO and its work

The Centre for Research on Dissemination at Oxford

While effective psychological treatments have been developed for a range of mental health problems, there is good evidence that few people receive them. It is for this reason research on the dissemination and implementation of psychological treatments is a priority (Fairburn and Patel, 2014).

The mission of CREDO is to conduct and foster interdisciplinary research designed to improve the dissemination and implementation of evidence-based psychological interventions. CREDO is engaged in two main programmes of dissemination research:

  1. The development and testing of scalable and cost-effective methods for training therapists in evidence-based psychological treatments, together with new ways of assessing therapist competence
  2. The development and evaluation of scalable ways of delivering psychological interventions

In addition, CREDO is collaborating with other research groups on complementary lines of work.

CREDO is funded by a strategic award from the Wellcome Trust. It is based in the Wellcome Building in the grounds of the Warneford Hospital, Oxford. It is part of Oxford University Department of Psychiatry.
